Ms. Damayanthi is driven to help students overcome barriers that impact their learning. My teaching philosophy is very simple students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I show my caring by forming relationships with my students and trying to help them find their dreams and strengths so they can believe in themselves the way I believe in them. Either way they are the future and have unlimited value. I feel strongly about sharing what I know with others. I feel this gives me an insight in guiding the diverse group of children that I have the privilege of teaching. I believe that as long as one is living they should always take the opportunity to learn something new. I believe that children are a gift and possess diverse talents and capabilities. I consider it a privilege to help facilitate their learning and academic growth. I believe each student learns in their own way and style. I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment where each student can have the opportunity to experience success and progress. By doing this, I hope to instill in them a desire to become lifelong learners. I have taken various trainings whenever possible to continue growing in my craft. I earned a post-graduation degree in International education from Indus International school certified by Birmingham university. I am certified Google, Apple IPad and Brain pop teacher. I have also completed training programs in Ramanujan Math phobia and scratch programming language. It is my goal to help encourage my students to look beyond the four walls of our classroom and view the world around them as a place of learning and discovery.

Teaching, to me, has always been a two-directional learning, a fantastic exchange of knowledge, where my students have been the smartest contributors.“Education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”From Dr. Maria Montessori’s handbook were impressing lines that influenced & inspired me when I decided to pursue a professional Teacher Training Programme. After pursuing my diploma in MTT, I began my career as a teacher as a conscious choice, driven by the excitement and the regard for the profession. I strongly believe in the ability of every individual especially that of a child. An innovative teaching professional having more than 8 years of experience in pre-primary teaching I have a genuine interest in students cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual growth. I like to be actively involved in all areas of education and enhance student’s creativity and innovation through lesson plans and by creating a caring environment for the students. In my past teaching experience, I have worked extensively with the Pre-primary students at various schools of repute in Kolkata. I successfully steered my last preschool experience as the Principal. This gave me a wide experience in curriculum planning & implementation. I aimed at broadening the education of children through unique methods of experience of creating opportunities for them to express and use their talent and learning in their daily life. A self-driven leader with excellent communication and inter-personal skills, I enjoy collaborating effectively with all levels of staff members and foster quality relationship with students and parents. As a part of the Synergy programme, organizing Annual Day and Sports Meet, Craft Exhibition, Kids Carnival, Celebrating Festivals and Special Days were some other duties I fruitfully delivered during my work tenure. My aim was to ensure strong school and parent partnership which lead to the holistic development of the children. As a principal, I played an important role in collaborating with futuristic schools and established a bridge to serve as feeder preschool and ensure that this transition from preschool to futuristic school for my students was smooth. I have always believed in shaping the lives of students with my understanding and experience of the process that goes into the wholesome development of an individual.I am a graduate in computer application, proficient in exploring, creating and modifying applications and databases online and offline as per the needs & demands of the Pre-Primary level. I spend leisure time exploring the new technology to keep myself upgraded. My hobbies are engaging in gardening and art n’ craft activities. I am a nature lover and of a belief that nurturing a child is just like nurturing plants. I also possess a good collection of my artworks and few craftworks.I enjoy travelling too. I feel mesmerized and excited to explore the cultural heritage of India and every time I realize that so much more is yet to be explored. I also love collecting the sovereigns from various places and preserve it as a memory to cherish life-long.
