Our Early Years 2 learners embarked on an exciting real-life learning adventure through the activity "Making Healthy Choices During My Visit to the Supermarket!"
A supermarket was set up in the classroom, creating an engaging environment where children stepped into the role of young shoppers. Armed with play money and plenty of enthusiasm, the learners explored different food options while making choices about what to place in their shopping baskets.
As they navigated the supermarket aisles, the facilitators encouraged meaningful discussions about healthy and treat foods. Learners carefully observed, compared, and selected nutritious options such as fruits, vegetables, and other wholesome foods, while developing an understanding of the importance of making healthy choices for their growing bodies.
This hands-on experience not only strengthened their awareness of healthy eating habits but also supported the development of decision-making, communication, and early financial literacy skills as they exchanged money and interacted with their peers and facilitators.
Through role play and exploration, learning came to life in a meaningful and memorable way. Nurturing healthy habits from an early age empowers children to make positive choices that support lifelong well-being.
