Year 9 learners explored sewing and ink techniques as part of Visual Arts. They engaged in hands-on learning with sewing machines, practicing safe handling and experimenting with different stitches to create simple fabric compositions. In ink painting, they worked with reference images to explore shading, tone, and expressive mark-making, and working with ink and water encouraged them to think about light, shadow, layering, and the balance between control and spontaneity.
Through these activities, learners built confidence, creativity, and a better understanding of form and movement in art.
