Year Group 6 learners recently embarked on an exciting, hands-on journey into the world of environmental sensing through an unplugged, beginner-friendly activity. Using simple input / output tools, they investigated key environmental factors—luminance, sound, temperature, and humidity—across various school settings including the cafeteria, computer lab, STEM room, and open grass area. In both indoor and outdoor environments, students gathered real-world data and transformed it into colourful graphs, helping them compare and understand how environmental conditions vary from place to place.
This unplugged experience blended inquiry, observation, and data visualization, nurturing scientific thinking and environmental awareness—a true "hands-on, minds-on" opportunity and an inspiring step toward becoming our future environmental scientists. 🌿
