Kannada Rajyotsava, celebrated with fervour on November 1st in Karnataka, was honoured at Valistus International School with a special assembly on the 6th. Commencing with the National Song and School Prayer, Year Group 4's Advaita Khanna and Year Group 5's Ajit Jason Prasanna presented an insightful speech about Karnataka and Bengaluru. The Year Group 1 learners performed a spirited dance to Dr. Rajkumar's iconic song, 'Huttidare Kannadanaadalli huttabeku'. Year Group 4 and 5 learners enacted a dance-drama, showcasing the valiant Onake Obbavva defending Chitradurga Fort. The tribute concluded with the State Song and the National Anthem, a fitting homage to Karnataka.
In conjunction with Kannada Rajyotsava, Valistus International School held an exhibition spotlighting Karnataka's diverse culture and heritage. Curated by Ms. Renuka of the Kannada Department, the exhibition featured various aspects of Kannada life. Each class explored the exhibits while reading the informative cards provided.
The exhibition showcased Kannada poets, authors, social reformers, historical monuments, folk dances, textiles, and local cuisine like Jolada Rotti and Holige. It aimed to convey Karnataka's Tourism tagline - 'One State, Many Worlds', providing our learners with a deeper appreciation and understanding of the state's rich heritage.
