Math Mavericks Club: From Players to Creators!

The Math Mavericks Club took mathematics beyond the classroom as learners stepped into the role of game creators.

Inspired by mathematical games played with their facilitators, learners worked in teams to design their own games, revisiting concepts and turning their ideas into engaging challenges.

From “Multifactor UNO” exploring factors and multiples, to “Hogwarts Hunt” combining multiple mathematical concepts, and Snakes and Ladders with arithmetic and algebraic challenges, each game reflected creativity, collaboration and mathematical thinking.

The experience moved learners from simply using mathematics to creating with mathematics - a powerful example of the Create level of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
