On 12th February 2024, Year Group 4 Tulips presented a delightful performance during their theme assembly. The assembly focused on the theme - International Day for Women and Girls in Science. The central idea aimed to help learners visualise how women scientists displayed resilience on their educational journey, developing necessary skills and establishing a presence in the field of science education.
The assembly incorporated a skit performed by learners, illustrating a classroom situation where a science teacher enlightened young minds about the timeline of women scientists and their notable discoveries. From the UN General Assembly declaring this day as a celebration of women and girls in science to international and national scientists, learners participated with enthusiasm, proudly dressing up as little scientists in lab coats. Following the skit, all learners, guided by Mr. Melvin, delivered a melodious and inspiring rendition. The dance performance on the song ‘Heroes’ left everyone in awe, as peers cheered for their energetic moves.
A distinguished guest, Ms. Hema, shared her journey in science and her pursuit of cybersecurity at the prestigious IISc. Her insightful talk emphasised the importance of curiosity, persistence, and discipline in pursuing science, inspiring many learners. The session concluded with Ms. Sapna (Head of Primary) felicitating and honouring the guest, receiving applause and a special mention from the guest herself.
