Valistus May 2023 2.0 - 96 Valistus International School

Building meaningful relationships with students and alumni is important for the strategic growth and advancement of higher education programmes. Valistus International School invited one of our Year 9 students' older brother, Athul Vincent, who is currently pursuing his Computer Science course at the University of Toronto, for a career conversation. This was an opportunity for him to offer career advice to our small group of Year 9 students, who will be our first graduating batch in 2024.

This event was meant to be a small networking session designed to offer students the chance to get answers to their most pressing questions about a specific career field and also how to go about working towards a desired goal.

Athul provided appropriate guidance in regard to students’ subsequent schedules as they relate to their ultimate career goals; the questions related to admission issues, how to get into a good school, stress management, and specific technicalities and requirements of the admission process to undergraduate programmes.

He opened up and offered up lessons learned using sometimes painful and surprisingly candid stories of the struggles usually faced by Indian students studying at a foreign university.

We are looking forward to having our own bunch of students return and share their experiences in the future.
