
Our Foundation Stage 1 learners explored the concept of “whole” and “half” through a fun, hands-on mathematics activity. Using everyday objects like apples and bread, facilitators demonstrated how a whole can be divided into two equal halves.
Learners observed closely, shared their ideas, and experimented with the objects themselves, building early mathematical understanding in a meaningful way. The activity encouraged them to use simple mathematical vocabulary, think critically and communicate their observations while learning through play in line with EYFS goals.
