Exploring Earth’s Layers and the Science of Earthquakes

Year Group 3 learners discovered the topic of Earthquake through an engaging blend of inquiry, creativity, and hands-on observation!

They began their exploration by examining the interior of the Earth and its crust using a globe and expressing their understanding through imaginative story writing inspired by their discoveries.

A thought-provoking video provocation helped them understand the layers of the Earth, the causes of earthquakes, and the role of a seismograph in monitoring them.

The highlight? Watching a seismograph model in action! Learners were fascinated to see how scientists record and study the vibrations of our restless planet.
