The Indian Institute of Science hosted its annual Open Day, drawing eager students from Year Groups 8 and 9 to delve into its offerings. Our journey began at the Institute of Brain Science, where IISC research students presented captivating case studies. These studies illuminated topics such as the influence of dominant and recessive genes on species composition, the neurological effects of physical activity, the intricacies of chromosomal structure, and the significance of sleep quality assessment through various instruments.
Transitioning to the Electrical Department, the students were spellbound by the visualisations of wire patterns under high voltage supply and were thrilled to learn about enhancing weapon speed with small ammeters and the versatile applications of microwaves.
The students also engaged in hands-on science experiments and explored the Computer Science Department, where they enjoyed witnessing interactive science games. Overall, the Open Day provided an enriching and memorable experience for all involved.
